This Vegan Chicken Seasoning is the perfect blend of savory and herby flavors, making it ideal for seasoning tofu, seitan, soups, chickpeas, jackfruit, or any plant-based meal. It’s ready in 5 minutes and keeps well in your spice cabinet whenever you need that classic “chicken” flavor - without the chicken!

I love making spice blends, like Homemade Taco Seasoning, Italian Seasoning, and Cajun Seasoning. This Vegan Chicken Seasoning is another staple in the spice drawer. It is a year-round staple, perfect for adding a classic savory flavor to plant-based dishes.
While it’s great for everyday cooking, it shines during holiday seasons when comforting, herby dishes are in demand. It’s especially useful for vegan stuffing, High-Protein Lupini Bean Seitan, soups like Vegan Chicken Noodle Soup and Vegetable Pennsylvania Dutch Pot Pie, and roasted vegetables.

Why I Love This Recipe
- Just like all my seasoning blends, this one is customizable with more or less of the flavors you want.
- Made with pantry staples, no fancy ingredients are required, so it is wallet-friendly.
Ingredients

Adding nutritional yeast to vegan chicken seasoning enhances the umami, savory depth, and slight cheesiness that mimics the richness of traditional chicken-based seasonings. It also helps create a more well-rounded, complex flavor that makes plant-based proteins taste more satisfying. I use Anthony's Nutritional Yeast.
Celery seed is optional. I think it adds a subtle earthy, slightly bitter, and savory depth that mimics the flavor of traditional chicken broth, but it’s not essential to the overall seasoning. If you don’t have it, the blend will still taste great without it.
Adjust the salt to your liking. As a matter of fact, adjust any of the seasonings with more or less of each.
