This Blueberry Salad Dressing is especially popular in the spring and summer when fresh blueberries are at their peak, but it can be enjoyed year-round using frozen berries.

It’s a refreshing addition to summer salads, holiday brunch spreads, and even festive meals like Easter and Fourth of July gatherings.

Like my other homemade salad dressings, Easy Vegan Ranch Dressing, Creamy Vegan Poppy Seed Dressing Recipe, Fruit Salad Dressing, and Vegan Cilantro Lime Dressing, it's quick to make, effortless, and flavorful!

It can be creamy with the addition of yogurt, or it can stay a homemade blueberry vinaigrette by omitting the yogurt. It will still be delicious.

Either way, this blueberry balsamic dressing pairs beautifully with Vegan Cobb Salad because what’s a great salad without the perfect dressing?

Why You'll Love This Recipe

  • With just six ingredients plus salt and pepper, you can create a delicious homemade blueberry dressing.
  • It's ready in less than 5 minutes!
  • Great for salads, grain bowls, roasted veggies, or even drizzled-over grilled tofu.
  • No refined sugar, just the natural sweetness of blueberries and a little maple syrup.
  • It stays fresh in the fridge for up to a week!

Ingredients

Blueberries - I typically use frozen since I always have them in the freezer to make Vegan Blueberry Oats but fresh ones works too!

Yogurt - The yogurt is entirely optional. You can omit or even add more for a creamier dressing.

Balsamic Vinegar - Opt for a high-quality balsamic, as its rich, tangy depth is the star of this dressing’s flavor.

See the recipe card for quantities and a complete list of ingredients.

Variations

Add more yogurt for a creamier dressing, or omit it altogether for a vinaigrette.

Every ingredient in this recipe is easily customizable. If you prefer a less sweet dressing, adjust the maple syrup to your taste!

How To Make Blueberry Salad Dressing

This is a quick blended salad dressing. Here are the pics of the process. See the recipe card for all the details.

Step 1: Add all the ingredients into a blender or bullet.

Step 2: Taste and adjust flavor.

Top Tips

  • For a dressing that is already cold and ready to eat, use frozen blueberries.
  • For a Blueberry Vinaigrette Dressing, omit the yogurt.
  • All of the ingredients are customizable, so adjust to taste.
  • Adjust consistency, if necessary, with a tablespoon of water.

Serving Suggestions

  • Drizzle over salads like Vegan Pearl Couscous Salad. It pairs beautifully with spinach, arugula, pecans, and feta-style vegan cheese, too.
  • Use over tofu, tempeh, or roasted veggies.
  • Toss with roasted Brussels sprouts for a sweet-savory finish.
  • Drizzle over grain bowls with quinoa, greens, and nuts. Swap out the dressing in Arugula and Pear Salad to make a delicious summer version.

Blueberry Dressing FAQS

How long does blueberry salad dressing last?

Store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. Give it a good shake before using it.

What can I use instead of balsamic vinegar?

Try apple cider vinegar for a brighter tang or red wine vinegar for a slightly sharper flavor. Note this will change the flavor profile of this recipe.

Can I make blueberry salad dressing without oil?

Yes. Leave out the oil and add water to adjust the consistency.

Notes

Nutritional values are only an estimation.
Use frozen blueberries for a cold and refreshing dressing right away.
The ingredients are flexible. Add more yogurt for extra creaminess, or leave it out for a lighter, vinaigrette-style dressing. If leaving the yogurt out, I usually add a tablespoon more of olive oil.

    5 stars
I didn’t think a blueberry salad dressing would become a staple in my kitchen, but here we are -I’m officially obsessed! The combination of sweet blueberries and tangy balsamic is unexpectedly perfect, and it somehow makes every salad feel fancier and more flavorful. Plus, it takes all of five minutes to whip up, which is exactly my kind of recipe. If you’re bored of the same old vinaigrettes, give this one a try.
