Just like you can whip up a Creamy Vegan Poppy Seed Dressing Recipe in a flash, you can create a creamy homemade ranch from scratch in under five minutes that outshines any store-bought option.

Using vegan mayo as your creamy base, you add dried herbs to create that wildly delicious ranch taste. Whether plant-based or not, you will love this vegan ranch recipe, and I'll even bet that no one will know it's not traditional ranch.

If you like making sauces and vegan dressings at home as much as I do, I have a quick and easy method to create any sauce you can dream of in How to Make Homemade Vegan Sauces.

Ingredients

Here are the simple ingredients you'll need to make this quick 5-minute sauce. The quantities are on the recipe card.

  • Mayo: Many delicious vegan mayo products taste exactly like their non-vegan counterparts. When selecting a vegan mayo to use in your recipes, taste test first to ensure you like the flavor.
  • Dairy-free milk: We use oat milk, but almond milk or soy milk works well, too.
  • Vinegar: You can substitute apple cider vinegar with any acid, so if you prefer lemon juice, use that.
  • Garlic: I use fresh garlic in this recipe and mince the garlic really well. Substitute with ½ teaspoon of garlic powder and mix all the ingredients with a spoon or whisk.
  • Herbs: The herbs in this recipe are critical to the great flavor. I like things herby, which some may find overpowering. Cut back to 1 teaspoon if necessary.

How to Make Vegan Ranch Dressing

This is so much better than store-bought dressing! It's this easy to make, too. See the recipe card for details.

Step 1: In a medium bowl, whisk together the vegan mayonnaise, milk, vinegar, garlic, onion powder, dried dill, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper.

Step 2: Stir well to incorporate. Adjust the consistency and flavor.

Top Tips

  • In case you find it too herby or salty, add more mayo to adjust the flavor easily.
  • The mayo-to-milk ratio sets the dressing's thickness. If you want a thicker consistency, add an extra tablespoon of mayo at a time until it's perfect for you.

Serving Suggestions

  • French fries like these Delicious Air Fryer Fries
  • Smashed potatoes or potato wedges
  • Salads - Try pouring it on Vegan Cobb Salad.
  • Dip for various veggies like celery sticks, carrots, cucumbers, and other fresh veggies.
  • Spread for sandwiches or veggie burgers like this Chipotle Black Bean Burger.
  • Drizzle on top of pizza or use it as a dip for your crust like this 100% Biga Neapolitan Pizza Dough Recipe or Pistachio Pesto Pizza.

Storage

For freshness, store in a jar or airtight container. This vegan ranch should last about a week in your refrigerator.
