Ever since I can remember, I have loved adding sauces, dips, and dressings to my food. I sometimes even add Maple-Orange Fruit Salad Dressing to my fruit bowl.

This sweet and tangy vegan honey mustard dressing is one of my go-tos — so easy, I’ve got it memorized. Made with vegan mayo and maple syrup, it’s creamy, light, and ready in minutes for drizzling, dipping, or dressing up any meal.

Condiments have the power to enhance any meal. Whether it's a vegan falafel wrap, vegan salad or grain bowl, or air fryer fries - they elevate anything from bland to grand!

If you like making sauces and dressings at home as much as I do, I have a quick and easy method you can learn about in How to Make Homemade Vegan Sauces, or you can visit my list of 5 in 5 sauces. They are all ready in less than 5 minutes with 5 ingredients or less.

Why You'll Love This Vegan Dressing

  • It can be made in under 5 minutes with ingredients you likely have on hand.
  • Sauces and dressings make every meal better!
  • Homemade dressing is less expensive than store-bought dressing.
  • It's very easy to make.
  • This dressing is dairy-free.

Is Honey Mustard Vegan?

Traditional honey mustard is typically not considered vegan because it contains honey, a product derived from animals. However, this honey mustard dressing is vegan because it uses vegan mayo and maple syrup to get that same sweet and creamy taste.

Ingredients

Here's all you'll need for this quick and easy recipe. See the recipe card for suggested quantities.

  • Vegan Mayo - The resemblance between conventional and vegan mayo is so remarkable that it becomes nearly impossible to distinguish between them.
  • Maple Syrup - Substitute with agave or brown sugar
  • Apple Cider Vinegar - Substitute with lemon juice

How To Make Easy Vegan Honey Mustard

This dressing is so easy, no blender needed—just a bowl and whisk! Check the recipe card for full details.

Step 2: Continue to whisk until the mixture is well combined and creamy. Taste the mixture and adjust the seasoning as needed.

Top Tips

  • If you prefer a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne or use a spicy mustard, such as horseradish mustard.
  • You can also experiment by adding garlic powder, smoked paprika, or herbs like thyme or rosemary. Remember to taste as you go and adjust the ingredients until you achieve the perfect flavor balance.

Ways To Use Vegan Honey Mustard

  • Spread it on sandwiches and wraps instead of mayonnaise or traditional honey mustard.
  • Use it as a dressing for a traditional salad.
  • Use it as a dip for vegetables, Air Fryer Red Potatoes, pretzels, or vegan chicken nuggets.
  • Add it to potato salad, pasta salad, or coleslaw for a creamy, tangy twist.
  • Drizzle it over roasted vegetables, such as Brussels sprouts or carrots, for a sweet and savory glaze.
  • Use it as a dip for delicious air-fryer fries or apples!

Vegan Honey Mustard FAQS

How long can I store vegan honey mustard?

If kept in a tightly sealed container to prevent air from getting in and spoiling the condiment, this dressing should last the same as mayo in the fridge.
