Description

Elevate your salads, tofu, and grain bowls with this rich, nutty, delicious, and spicy Asian Sesame Dressing that brings flavor to every bite! Use as a dip, marinade, or dressing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari (for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter, unsweetened
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds or black sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 clove fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha or other hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice (optional, for a tangy twist)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together the sesame oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce, maple syrup, peanut butter, seeds, grated ginger, and minced garlic until well combined.
  2. Adjust Seasoning: Taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning with more maple syrup or sriracha if you want a bit of heat. If you prefer a tangier flavor, you can add the lime juice.
  3. Serve: Use the dressing immediately on your favorite salad, rice bowl, or veggie sushi. Store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Give it a good shake or stir before using it if stored.

Notes

This is meant to be a thin dressing. To make it thicker, increase the amount of peanut butter.

Natural peanut butter is just ground-up peanuts with no additives. If you use sweetened peanut butter, adjust the amount of maple syrup.

See the post for optional additions, substitutions, and variations.
